Overview
Founded in 2006 by architect Pooja Bihani, Spaces & Design is an award-winning Kolkata studio creating distinctive residences, workspaces, and lifestyle environments across India. Its work is shaped by thoughtful planning, materiality, light, and an instinct for spaces that feel as considered as they look. Working in partnership with Grafico Labs, MTRX™ designed and developed a digital experience that carries this philosophy onto the screen. Every transition, interaction, and layout decision was crafted to feel clean and sophisticated, giving the studio’s architecture room to speak while keeping the experience fluid across devices.

The Challenge
Spaces & Design has a rich portfolio spanning architecture, luxury residences, workspaces, and lifestyle environments. The challenge was to present that breadth without turning the website into a crowded catalogue.
The experience needed to feel as precise and sophisticated as the studio’s physical work. High-resolution project photography had to remain crisp and immersive, while the site still needed to load and move smoothly across screen sizes.

The Solution
In partnership with Grafico Labs, we designed and developed a restrained, editorial website that lets the architecture lead. Generous spacing, considered typography, and a clear project structure give every space its own presence without competing with the imagery.
Built in Next.js, the experience combines a maintainable project system with strong technical foundations for performance, responsive delivery, and search visibility. Motion was treated as part of the storytelling, not decoration: clean transitions create rhythm while staying faithful to the brand’s understated character.
We optimized the image experience to preserve architectural detail and visual impact without making visitors wait for it. The project structure also allows the team to keep the portfolio current without compromising the consistency of the design.

The Result
The finished website feels measured, visual, and unmistakably aligned with Spaces & Design. Projects are easier to explore, imagery retains the quality the work deserves, and subtle motion gives the experience character without stealing attention.
